Our scheduled headliner for May 13, Sam Tallent, announced this afternoon that his tour is being rescheduled due to an extremely huge opportunity (we're talking movies/TV). Thankfully, our friend Wiley Roberts has already been on the big screen AND he just happens to be in the Salem area! How cool is that? So, if you've already purchased tickets, you get admission to tonight's show and tickets to Sam Tallent's rescheduled date (TBA).
We still have a few spots open for tonight's show, which now features headliner Wiley Roberts (BET, Mtv, Comedy Central) with Eric Alexander Moore and Ray McMillin providing support. Shotski's Pizza brings professional stand-up comedy to Salem every second Saturday of the month, with a rotating cast of professional comedians from all over the country. For May's second-Saturday professional comedy show at Shotski's Pizza, 1HRx Entertainment presents comedy from Denver's Sam Tallent.
Known for whip-quick wit and rollicking improvisations, Sam Tallent is one of the sharpest, most original rising talents in comedy today. He has been called "the absurd voice of a surreal generation" by the Denver Post, and, when not maintaining a "Black Flag esque tour schedule" (Savage Henry Magazine), Sam has worked alongside many of the biggest names in comedy, including Louis CK, Dave Chappelle, Doug Stanhope, Dana Carvey, Hannibal Buress and TJ Miller. Sam has performed at the Oddball Comedy Festival, High Plains Comedy Festival, Hell Yes Fest, the Chicago Comedy Expo and the NY Film and Television Festival. Sam regularly headlines his hometown club, the legendary Denver Comedy Works. He recently won his battle on Comedy Central's Roast Battle, and was seen on VICELAND's Flophouse as well as the Chris Gethard Show (bio taken from Sam's website).
Sam Tallent is taking things to the big time and performing in luxurious Salem, Oregon on Saturday, May 13th at Shotski's Pizza. Joining the bill will be local mainstay Ray McMillin (Harvey's PDX, Helium PDX, Punch Line SF), with Eric Alexander Moore (Helium, Improlympia) taking care of hosting duties with an extended opening set.
